Membership at PML

At Page Moss Lane Baptist Church (PML), everyone is welcome to come and worship with us—we’re always glad to see new faces!

For those who feel ready to take a step further and make a deeper commitment to the family here, we offer church membership. Membership is open to anyone who has chosen to follow Jesus. You can become a member in one of three ways:

Through Baptism
By transferring from another church (it doesn’t have to be a Baptist church)
By making a public profession of your faith

Choosing membership is a way of saying, “This is my church family, and I want to stand with them.” It strengthens the life of the church and helps us work together more effectively in the mission God has given us.

Yes, membership involves commitment—and sometimes sacrifice—whether that’s time, energy, or resources. But it also brings the joy of belonging: being part of a community of people who love Jesus, believe in what they’re doing, and support one another as we serve God together.

In a world where it’s easy to think like consumers, church membership invites us to live differently—as contributors, family members, and covenant people of God. We believe this is both life-giving and worth sharing with others.

Members are asked to make the following promises to each other:

In our membership we acknowledge God’s call to work out our salvation together and so we agree:

We will encourage each other and be merciful to one another and honest about ourselves. We will give each other acceptance and not condemnation.

We will love one another sincerely, with humility, gentleness, patience and truthfulness.

We will work hard to keep the oneness which God has given us, and in his kindness and compassion, we will freely forgive one another.

We will put each other before ourselves and cherish God’s grace at work in each other. We will use whatever gifts God has given us to bless and build each other up.

We promise to be faithful in our prayers for each other, to share what ever we have with each other and to look out for each other’s welfare.

Together we will declare the risen Jesus as Lord and Saviour of the world.

For all of this we ask the help of the Holy Spirit, to the glory of God the Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
